This ancient Buddhist temple compound has several interesting religious structures, including what is arguably the most beautiful wooden Lanna temple in Northern Thailand, the open-sided Wihan Luang. It dates back to 1476 and it’s thought to be the oldest standing wooden structure in the country.
There is a small white building behind the stupa, called Haw Phra Phutthabaht where a natural camera obscura can be seen. Unfortunately, only man are allowed to enter. The image is projected (upside down) onto a white cloth and clearly depicts the colours of the structures outside.
The temple grounds are open from 7:30 am until 5 pm. Admission is free (donations highly appreciated).
