One of Geelong’s most renowned artworks, Eugene von Guerard’s View of Geelong has been paid tribute to in a piece of public art located in Highton’s Montpellier Park.

Artists Cameron Bishop and Simon Reis have created a Camera Obscura viewing device and housed it inside a replica chimney ruin that has been built on site.

The City of Greater Geelong commissioned the artwork as a part of actioning the Public Art Strategy.

“Montpellier Park is used by many Highton residents. It is a beautiful recreation space with sweeping views of Geelong,” said Cr Nelson.
